Why Local Matters - Playing the Local Search Game

If you are paying attention to anything in the search marketing realm (SEO or SEM), you may notice that “local search” is the new search marketing “buzzword.” A number of recent studies suggest that local search delivers more relevant results and, naturally, more relevant results mean more conversions. So what exactly is local search and is it just an overhyped buzzword?
Welcome to August! We have officially passed the mid point of the year and I
hope that you are hitting your mid-year goals. Definition 6 reached a major
milestone this summer by celebrating our 10 year anniversary, and I must say
what an amazing journey this has been. You will see a few pictures from our
celebration below. This month we are focusing on local search, an emerging trend
in the search engine optimization industry. In the article above, we have laid

At a Search Engine Strategies session in New York earlier this month, Jonathan Mendez, e-marketing director for interactive agency DigitalGrit, started out by asking a packed room if anyone in the audience believed that brand advertising and search marketing couldnt be integrated.
Now that paid search has become an integral component of the marketing mix, marketing managers need to plan for the impact it will have on other media such as television, direct mail, websites and email.
